New Ross Power Hour Grant

We are pleased to inform you that Union League Boys & Girls Clubs has been selected by Boys & Girls Clubs of America Ross Stores Foundation to receive a grant to implement a Ross Foundation Power Hour grant. A new iteration of the Ross Power Hour grant was designed to allow us to participate in the new Power Hour model to be launched for the next academic year. New Club Sites

The Union League Boys & Girls Clubs have expanded into new areas of Chicago where we are reaching a whole new group of children.

NEW SOUTH SIDE CLUB SITES
The South Side of Chicago has some of the highest crime rates in Chicago and after school programs are needed to help combat this. We will give the children in the Englewood and South Lawndale communities another option for after school: Boys & Girls Clubs.

As at all our sites, our new locations will provide ongoing programs after school including homework help, SMART Girls, Passport to Manhood, sports, and more, while providing a healthy meal or snack for every child.

Each of our two new sites is having a grand opening. More information is available in the pdf links below.

Google to teach our Boys & Girls Clubs computer code

Union League Boys & Girls Clubs is excited to announce that we will be participating in a new initiative aimed at creating more opportunities for youth to experience and learn about technology.  The Code Corps initiative is a partnership between our Club, the Corporation for National & Community Service and Google.  We will be working with AmeriCorps VISTA volunteers who will help us build capacity to serve more youth with technology programs.  We need your help!  We are looking for exceptional folks to be our VISTAs.  Please share the following listing with as many people as you can.
