Pasta Dinner

Sign up yourself and your guests for the pasta dinner on Friday, October 10, 2008 at the Lafayette Club, 2714 West Augusta Blvd., Chicago, IL, 60622

Cheer Team

Each year the ULBGC has a cheer station. The cheer station is a charity rally station for spectators and supporters along the Charity Mile of the race course. We give all of our cheer team members brightly colored shirts so that it is easy for you the runner to spot them and us on your journey to complete the 26.2 miles! Sign up your friends and family now!

Volunteer

If you’re not running this year, but still want to stay involved by volunteering at our pasta diner and as a cheer team organizer, click here to be involved.

When Do We Start Running?
That is up to you! Many of the training programs found on the 2008 Bank of America Chicago Marathon website, www.chicagomarathon.com, are around 18 weeks.

The Best Part
They say that what you put into this world is what you get out. So, what kind of support are you going to get from us? We all know that the challenge of training for this feat presents possibly the greatest challenge next to completing the race! That is why we send you Motivation Mail via e-mail to tell you some great motivating stories, give you fun pointers—like what songs to put on your play list—and point you in the direction of some new and exciting running trails! We also have a Pasta Dinner on Friday, October 10, 2008 at 4:30pm at our Lafayette Club. The pasta dinner is FREE for you, your family and your sponsors when you're on our team! At the pasta dinner we will hand out team shirts, collect donations and give you some much anticipated time with the kids! The spotlight of the dinner is the question and answer panel between the Club kids (who quite frankly cannot fathom running 26.2 miles, so you become superhuman to them and they will ask you things like what you eat, if you sleep, etc.) and a personal card of congratulations from a kid!

The Goods
Maybe we lied up there. The best part might be the card of congratulations from a Club member you will receive, the pasta dinner at the Club with our kids and the help we offer to you in raising the money. Our runners also have use of our website to receive online donations from friends and family. Click here to download sample e-mails, postcards and letters to help muster support from your friends and family!

The Commitment
We ask each member of our Marathon family to raise a minimum of $500 and wear our team shirts on race day.
