Swim, Run, Bike or Hike to Salem

This summer from June 1 through July 31, you are invited to try to swim, run, bike or hike to Salem, Wisconsin in support of the Union League Boys and Girls Clubs Summer Camps.

In a 70-mile swim over the course of three months, you can swim laps, float for laps—whatever gets you up and down the length of the pool. Record your laps or mileage after each swim on the "Swim to Salem" wall charts at the pool to raise funds, feel good about yourself and lead the way to a better future for yourself and our youth!

About this Challenge

Are you an athlete or just somone looking to start exercising? There is no better way to start a challenge than one with a great cause behind it.

Sign up to take the challege to swim, run, bike or hike 70 miles from June 1 through July 31 in honor of the 10,252 youth served by the Union League Boys and Girls Clubs! After you sign up you will be sent a link to create your own webpage to not only track your progress but to encourage others you know to support your efforts and the youth of the ULBGC!

Fun Fact: It is 70 miles from the ULBGC Headquarters office in the Chicago Loop to the ULBGC Campgrounds in Salem, Wisconsin.

Every summer, in every community, boys and girls are left to find their own recreation and companionship on the streets. An increasing number of children are at home with no adult care or supervision. Young people need to know someone cares about them.

Union League Boys and Girls Clubs and Summer Camp in Salem, Wisconsin offer that and more. Club and Camp programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence. Boys and Girls Clubs are a safe place to learn and grow - all while having fun.

In a 70-mile swim over the course of three months, you can swim laps, kick a few with your buddies, float for laps - whatever gets you up and down the length of the pool. So gather a few friends, spread the word about getting the kids off the street and helping them reach their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens while maintaining a healthy lifestyle for yourself!

Record your laps or mileage after each swim on the "Swim to Salem" wall charts at the pool. Use our personal record sheet so you can always have your results with you. Try to reach Skokie, which is 15 miles from the Union League Club, or go the distance to Salem, Wisconsin, the site of the Union League Boys and Girls Clubs Camp!
